Traffic will travel down a busy one-way Conwy street ‘the wrong way’ on Friday.

With roadworks shutting Conwy’s Town Ditch Road on Friday 26 February, cars will instead be diverted down Castle Street in the ‘wrong direction’ towards the High Street and quay.

Cars travelling towards Llandudno Junction will be diverted to the A55.

Those using buses are being told to check their service with Arriva.

The diversions follow a zebra crossing being painted on Town Ditch Road outside Conwy Culture Centre.

A spokeswoman for Conwy County Council commented: “Town Ditch Road in Conwy will be closed on Friday 26 February for one day while we complete the new zebra crossing. There will be a signed diversion.”

Diversion information

Coming from the Llandudno Junction direction, the diversion goes down Castle Street in the opposite direction to the usual one-way system.

Then, either turn left from Castle Street onto the High Street or turn right from Castle Street to access the Quay.

Traffic can continue one way along Berry Street for access to Chapel Street and Llewelyn Street.

Contact Arriva for arrangements regarding buses.
